Baftas 2014: Gravity tops nominations list
Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity has received the most nominations for this year's EE British Academy Film Awards.
The movie, which stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney picked up a total of 11 nominations, including the prestigious Best Film gong.
American Hustle and 12 Years A Slave both received 10 nomimations.
Gravity is nominated in the following categories: Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Director for Alfonso Cuarón, Original Screenplay, Original Music, Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Sound and Special Visual Effects.
Sandra Bullock received a nomination in the Leading Actress category. She's up against the likes of Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Dame Judi Dench and Emma Thompson.
12 Years A Slave, which is directed by Steve McQueen, has been nominated ten times.
Nominations for 12 Years A Slave include Best Film and Best Director for Steve McQueen.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is nominated in the Leading Actor category. Other actors in the category inclide Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Tom Hanks and Bruce Dern.
American Hustle, which is directed by David O. Russell, was also nominated 10 times, including in the Best Film category.
The film also picked up nominations for Director for David O. Russell, Original Screenplay, Production Design, Costume Design and Make Up & Hair.
In addition, Christian Bale picked up a nomination for Best Actor, while Amy Adams was nominated for Best Actress.
Bradley Cooper, who enjoyed award success last year for his role in The Silver Linings Playbook, is nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category.
He's up against Michael Fassbender, Barkhad Abdi, Matt Damon and Daniel Brühl.
Jennifer Lawrence picked up a nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category.
The actress, who was nominated for the Best Actress award at last year's ceremony, is up against Lupita Nyong’o, Sally Hawkins, Julia Roberts and Oprah Winfrey.
Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine received three nominations. Cate Blanchett was nominated in the Best Actress category, while Sally Hawkins was nominated in the Supporting Actress category.
Woody Allen received a nod for Original Screenplay.
Martin Scorsese's The Wolf Of Wall Street received four nominations, including Director for Martin Scorsese, Adapted Screenplay and Editing.
Leonardo DiCaprio was also nominated for Best Actor for his role in the movie.
Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, which stars Idris Elba, was nominated for Outstanding British Film. The movie is up against Gravity, Philomena, Rush, Saving Mr. Banks and The Selfish Giant.
Daniel Brühl completes the Supporting Actor category for Rush, which also receives nominations for Outstanding British Film, Editing and Sound.
Saving Mr. Banks received a number of nominations; Outstanding British Film, Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer, Original Music and Costume Design.
Captain Phillips is nominated in the following categories: Best Film, Director for Paul Greengrass, Adapted Screenplay, Original Music, Cinematography, Editing and Sound. Tom Hanks is nominated for Leading Actor and Barkhad Abdi is nominated for Supporting Actor.
Philomena is nominated in the Best Film category, with three further nominations in Outstanding British Film, Adapted Screenplay and Leading Actress for Dame Judi Dench.
