King David. The shepherd boy. The King. The lustful. The adulterer. The murderer. The Psalmist. The Warrior. The musician. The husband of many. The father of many. The faithful, and the unfaithful. The bloodline of Jesus, Yashua. The man after God’s own heart.
So many finds as of late regarding the great King of the Holy Bible have been unearthed. The man the Bible refers to as, “A man after God’s own heart..” Could these finds have prophetic significance? I am beginning to wonder. We know that in the end times God is going to reveal great things in order to increase faith. However, I feel there is much more. Stay with me here and by the end, you will understand.
Many of us know King David by his adulterous relationship with Bathsheba, the Hitite, who was married to a man named Uriah. King David, upon seeing her cleansing herself from her monthly cycle on the rooftop, (yes, the truth doesn’t sound as exciting, does it? But that is what historical documents state. She wasn’t actually taking a literal bath, as we have been taught, but cleansing herself with herbs and flowers from her menstrual cycle) engaged in lustful thoughts. He then acted on those thoughts and had sexual relations with her, which resulted in an unwanted pregnancy.
David, in order to try and conceal what had happened, had Uriah, Bathsheba’s husband who was most faithful to King David, murdered. He had him murdered by sending him to the front lines of the war, knowing that he would be killed. As a result, when the child was born, no matter how hard David prayed in his sackcloth and ashes, the baby died. God forgave David, but would not release the curse upon the great sin he had commited.
However, there is much more to David than this. Although he sinned great, he loved YHVH with all of his heart. He is known for his great poetry and Psalms, and was a masterful musician. He fearlessly fought many wars with great victory, singing and dancing all the way home; but he also lost some of the battles when he was not faithful to YHVH.
So what do all of these Davidic finds have to do with Bible prophecy?
King David prophesied the coming Messiah the first time Jesus came. Maybe all of these findings might be a hint that we are on the precipice of the ‘second’ coming of Christ Jesus, as well as providing proof of the authenticity of the Bible to the unbelieving and doubtful.
Archaeologists excavating the remains of a city near Jerusalem, in the valley where the Bible says David defeated Goliath.
David, through many of the Psalms that he wrote, was also a prophet. YHVH (GOD) gave him visions of the coming Messiah, and he even witnessed the crucifixion through the very eyes of Yashua:
PSALMS:
22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. 22:17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. 22:18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.” (Psalm 22:16-18 KJV)
Here are some more prophecies of Christ that David wrote in his songs:
2:7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 2:9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.” (Psalm 2:7-9 KJV; see The Coming World Dictator)
16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul [i.e. His body - see Where Is Your Soul?] in hell [i.e. in the grave - see Where or What is Hell?]; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.” (Psalm 16:10 KJV)
22:1 … My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [see Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani?] Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?” (Psalm 22:1 KJV)
41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me [see Was Judas Necessary?]” (Psalm 41:9 KJV)
110:4 … Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek [seeWhat Is Jesus Christ Doing Right Now?]” (Psalm 110:4 KJV)
118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner [see Zionism]” (Psalm 118:22 KJV)
118:26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.” (Psalm 118:26 KJV) Vist Here For More
We can see here from the Bible verses above, David did indeed prophesy the coming Savior, Jesus Christ. These Biblical finds do have much prophetic significance in many ways. Let the reader understand: Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords is coming soon! If you are not ready, repent today of all your sin and make straight your way. Come to Him and tell Him you want to pick up your cross (your past life of sin—the flesh) and follow Him instead.
