A hotel worker was arrested and will be charged with arson after he allegedly deliberately set fire to numerous homes, according to police reports in Israel.
Tel Aviv Police said that they arrested a 25-year-old man after he was accused of starting fires in residential building stairwells, electrical cabinets and gas tanks, in Holon.
During questioning, the suspect admitted to 15 cases of arson. The suspect was brought before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court for a bail hearing, and he was remanded into a custody for at least four days.
Residents in Holon have experienced numerous arson attacks in recent months. However, no human casualties were reported, but police suspected a serial arsonist.
Just last week, three arson attacks were reported in the city.
After a long investigation, police arrested the suspect, who is an employee at a Tel Aviv hotel.
The suspect told police about many other arson attacks in which he was involved, but were not reported to the police.
The young man told police that when he gets nervous he goes out and looks for a target to burn.
Police said that the man has no criminal record, and that he committed the arson attacks after he got drunk.
